Hoverfly and honeysuckle

28Jun10

I generally don’t have much luck with photographing bees, butterflies and the like. However, I seem to have been lucky when I noticed a hoverfly hanging around the honeysuckle in our gardden.  It had just come into flower and it was a case of being at the right place at the right time with a camera in hand.

These were taken with an E-520 and the 35 mm macro lens.  They were both developed initially in RPP and then further adjusted in Aperture using the standard RPP import preset with no additional adjustments.  Both have been cropped to remove dead space and sharpened for web.
