Contours
There are bits of rock sculpted like waves or the contours of hills along the shoreline of Eriskay. Some look as though you are looking down from a plane at a landscape below. This one was a rather simpler display of form and texture, but could almost be a long distance shot of some hills.
The first thing I did with this was to get improve the colour version, which I started off with by using the auto curves separate function. This punched up the colours a lot and added a fair bit of contrast, which was further increased by using Definition and a s-curve. The colours were deepened slightly using Vibrancy. This provided the base for the B&W conversion with a red filter preset. Contrast was further increased using the Intensify Contrast and Definition quick brushes – the aim was bring out the texture of the granite. A little dodging of some highlighted areas added to the 3-D feel.

Great textures and light!
