Approaching Storm

It seems you can never be certain of plain sailing, even on a fine day. I turned round while on a ferry on Lake Garda and saw this yacht sailing into a squall and just grabbed the shot instinctively. The image works in colour, largely because it is essentially monochromatic in nature:
But once again I think that it is better in black and white:
Both images were taken from the same GX200 shot, grabbed on the fly. Both were developed from raw to recover highlights. The B&W image was developed with the ‘Dramatic’ preset and a blue filter in SilverEfex Pro before having a final curves tweak in Aperture. The colour image had the same curves tweak and then the punch preset added.
