The Gloaming

09Mar10

Stepping back in time a few minutes from yesterday’s post, the sky held the glow of the sun after it had dropped below the horizon.  There was just enough light to bring out the subtle gradients at the very top of the Howe of Fife.  With virtually no clouds, the colour in the sky did not remain long.

This was a GF1 shot using the 20mm/f1.7 lens, exposed at +0.66EV to try to not lose the shadows as the best balance between not losing the highlights in the sky.  It was a handheld shot at 1/13s and was just on the edge of what could be handheld.

The shadows were brought up in development, the sky was darkened slightly using a graduated neutral density filter.
